NOI begins with you!

You are here because you have talent, knowledge and potential. But especially because you want to be active, and above all because, just like us, you want to shape tomorrow’s future today. And we are cultivating a creative atmosphere to achieve this. We delight in all new impulses – they broaden our horizons. The most important thing here is the openness of each individual. Cooperation and initiative give rise to synergies that add up to so much more than the sum of their parts.
NOI is not just a place.
NOI is about possibilities.

To help you quickly feel at home, we have made a list of the most important things that you will need to know to get you off to a smooth start at NOI. And if there is anything that we have missed out, just ask! Everybody here will be happy to help you.

... for Deliveries

Please arrange all deliveries via Ipazia, because this is the only entrance which allows direct access for delivery vehicles. This entrance is always reserved for deliveries. NB: for organisational reasons, the owners of all vehicles need to be traceable. Therefore, make sure there is a contact number visible on all delivery vehicles. In addition, always include the first and last name on any package as well as the name of the corresponding institution, or alternatively NOI, so that the package is also traceable.

... on Foot or by Bike

There are three entrances for pedestrians and bicycles: two main entrances in via A. Volta next to our restaurant NOISTERIA, and in the south via Ipazia follow the red arrow. Please leave your bike at the designated bicycle racks.

... by Car or Motor Bike

You can park your car or motor bike in our underground car park. The entrance/exit is in via A. Volta, on the eastern side of Building A5 – simply follow the blue arrow. It is open from 5:45 to 23:00 (on Saturdays from 8:00 to 20:30). If you intend to make regular use of the car park you may obtain a parking permit. See → GETTING ORGANISED.
CAUTION! The gratings on the ramp are very slippery, especially when wet. Two-wheelers must be pushed. vedi GETTING ORGANISED.

... by Bus

The bus stops are located in via A. Volta directly in front of the main entrance – follow the yellow signs. We have a direct bus route, number 111. It links NOI with the city centre, the main railway station and Bolzano Sud train station. Alternatively, you can use bus routes 111-S, 6, 10A and 10B. For departure times please check → sasabz.it

... by Train

It is a 10-minute walk from Bolzano Sud train station to NOI.

... on Horseback

Cats, dogs, horses or iguanas – we love animals! But because there are many sensitive laboratory environments on the NOI premises, all with very high hygiene standards, animals are unfortunately not permitted.

Please note that the individual buildings have different addresses.

A1: Via A. Volta 13 A
A2: Via A. Volta 13 B
A3: Via A. Volta 9 (Nursery)
A4: Via A. Volta 15 A (NOISTERIA)
D1: Via Ipazia 2
A1 + 2: Via Ipazia 1 (address for deliveries)

Wi-Fi

There are three Wi-Fi networks at NOI:

OpenAir: free Wi-Fi for the whole NOI-Community and visitors
ScientificNetworkSouthTyrol: connects automatically to your internal network
Eduroam: the international scientific network

Parking

If you regularly come by car, you can subscribe for a flexible parking space in the underground car park. Simply contact your administrator for further details.
Visitors can park in the underground car park by collecting a ticket at the entrance barrier and validating this before leaving again at the ticket machines. The charge is 1.50 € per hour, VAT incl.

Electromobility

Do you drive an electric vehicle? Then you can recharge your battery here. We have installed six parking spaces with charging facilities for electric vehicles: two charging stations on the surface level with 11 kW charging capacity each and four wall boxes on basement level 1, each with 11 kW charging capacity. All six charging stations are connected to the standard Italian and European payment systems. In Building D1 there are currently four wall boxes on basement level 2, which are only available for companies located in D1. They can only be used by one company at a time.

Nursery/Kindergarten

We have an on-site nursery and kindergarten with 30 places, which are run by the social cooperative “Casa-Bimbo/Tagesmutter Onlus”. If you have children and need daycare, please contact us:

Staying safe

Emergencies

In the event of serious emergencies (fire alarm, water damage, gas alarm, power failure etc.) please call +39 0471 066 640, immediately.

This number is attended 24/7. A team member of our Facility Management will help you.

For emergencies concerning the car park, please call +39 335 571 5751.

Fire Protection

Please ensure that all applicable fire protection regulations are observed. Escape routes and fire protection equipment must be accessible at all times, emergency exits must not be blocked under any circumstances and hazardous substances must only be stored in the areas provided for this purpose. All safety violations regarding fire protection must be reported immediately to NOI SpA. For more details, please refer to the document “Piano di Emergenza e di Evacuazione”, which you can download from Viva Engage.
In the event of a fire alarm, all buildings must be evacuated as quickly as possible. There are three assembly points: on the main square in front of building A1, at the entrance to the underground car park in front of building D1, and at the back door of the east wing of building A1. Head to the assembly point closest to your location and follow further instructions from the security officers.

First Aid

NOI ensures that all necessary first aid equipment is available and maintained. A defibrillator is located at the Information Desk.

Security

We have hired a security service to monitor the site. Security is also responsible for the main gates on via A. Volta – these are closed at 23:00 and open again at 5:45 in the morning (on Saturdays, the main gates open at 8:00 and close at 20:30).

Keys

NOI is equipped with a central, digital access control system, which operates by using RFID-badges as keys. You will receive detailed information about this together with your badge directly from us at NOI-Reception on the 2nd floor. If keys are lost or stolen, please report this immediately to NOI SpA so that they can be deleted from the system. In this eventuality we will have to charge you 30 €.

Video Surveillance

The entire technology park is equipped with a video surveillance system. The recordings are stored for 24 hours and are only viewed by the security forces in the case of an emergency.

Support

Electric, plumbing, heating, cooling, access control – all support requests for building services are handled by a central ticket system. Just send an e-mail to fm@support.bz.it

Tickets are processed in strict order of priority. Requests via telephone cannot be accepted for organisational reasons.

Maintenance work and other scheduled interventions and the resulting inconvenience will be communicated by the NOI-Team as early as possible.

For IT and telephony related issues, please contact your administration.

Photos and videos

Sometimes a picture (or video) is worth a thousand words, right? If you need visual material of NOI, you can use our well-stocked photo and video archive. Or get creative yourself. We have summarised for you how to access our archive, what you need to bear in mind when using or producing the images and who you can contact if you have any questions. Check out our guidelines on how to use photos and videos – you’ll find them on Viva Engage under the section “Pinned”.

NOI-Ringtones

Do you wish to identify NOI-related calls on your mobile phone immediately? No problem! There are two NOI-ringtones to choose from, only available to the community. You can download them on Viva Engage under the section “Pinned”.

Enjoy good vibes

Room Temperature

You can regulate the temperature in your office or lab from the room thermostat.

Lighting

The standard lamps and lights in your office can be dimmed by holding down the push button for a short while. The standard lamps also have a motion detector that automatically switches off the lamp. The lights in the open-space offices and corridors are also controlled by timers and daylight sensors, so you do not have to worry about them. Only when you leave a room with a light switch – please switch it off manually.

Waste Separation

It goes without saying: waste separation is important to us, and it is also quite simple here. On all floors you will find recycling areas with containers for plastic, paper, glass and metal, as well as garbage bins for residual waste. Our cleaning service empties the waste in the bins every day. We only ask you to take waste that is too big for these containers (e.g. large cardboard boxes) to the collection point yourself. You are also responsible for the disposal of bulky or hazardous waste as well as dangerous substances.

Smoking

Keep it fresh. Smoking is not allowed in any of the buildings at NOI.

Signage

To make it easier for everyone to find their way around, we have developed a uniform system for designating the rooms, and we use these designations on all doors and in all communications.

Instructions

Personal initiative is required  – but not when it comes to the premises and furnishings. Modifying technology or electrical systems, drilling holes in walls, converting or pasting things on furniture, obscuring glass panels with furniture or by covering them, hanging up posters, advertising material or signs: no matter what you want to change, convert or hang up, please contact our Facility Management first: → fm@noi.bz.it

Take a break

Restaurant

Whether for your coffee break, lunch or aperitivo, NOISTERIA is the place to get your refreshments. Always open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 20:00. You can book a table here:

Community Bar

Our Community bar on the 2nd floor of building A1, with its covered and leafy conservatory, is the perfect place for an informal meeting, a short break or a table tennis match. Here you will find fridges, a dishwasher and sinks that you can use for your own purposes. The principle of a community applies here: everything that is here can and should be used by everyone. And in order to keep everything nice and pleasant please treat it with care.
The Community Bar also offers a range of food, snacks and drinks provided by Rockin Beets by Cibus BZ Srl. All products are vegan and made from organic or Fairtrade ingredients, sourced locally and seasonally wherever possible. To minimise waste, the meals come in glass containers. Enjoy the delicious and healthy food – and don't forget to pay for your meal: you can choose from a variety of payment methods and systems. Also, please remember to return the glass containers.

Smoking Areas

Outside you will find smoking areas with ashtrays – please restrict your smoking to these places.

Park

NOI is surrounded by green spaces. Make yourself at home here whilst enjoying the fresh air and the mountain views.

Kitchenettes

Treat yourself to a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat. The communal kitchenettes at NOI are available for everyone and are ideal for short breaks. Here you can warm up the food you have brought with you, but they are not suitable for extensive cooking. Please always tidy up afterwards so that it remains nice and clean for everyone.

Meet up

NOISE

You find the NOISE just past the Information Desk on the ground floor. It is a mixture of library with stimulating magazines and a generous co-working area. There are about 50 workstations, with power points and high-speed internet access. For important or private telephone or video calls, feel free to use one of the two phone booths. At the NOISE, you can work, read and have small, informal meetings here. This area is for everyone, both internally and externally – just pop in and find yourself a space, no registration needed. Open Monday to Friday from 7:45 to 21:45 and Saturday from 9:00 to 20:00.

Seminar Area

There are four seminar rooms with fast internet access and a screen or monitor in each available to the NOI-Community. More information about the rooms and their equipment can be found here: → noi.bz.it/en/seminar-area

The spacious rooms at NOI can be booked at any time for workshops, seminars and conferences – and by the way, also for external groups. It is important, though, that the event matches the ethos of NOI – it should primarily be about inspiring and imparting knowledge, not selling and marketing. If needed, our Meeting Management is happy to support you in the organisation of your event. Send all your enquiries to → meetings@noi.bz.it

Crane Hall

NOI’s architecture is thrilling: where we meet and work today was once a large aluminium plant. The production hall of this former factory has been restored for NOI and, with a length of 70 metres and a height of around 10 metres, offers plenty of space for special events.

Open Air Theatre

Yes, we do also have an open air theatre. We use this covered outdoor area for press conferences and events, plays or concerts, but also as a casual everyday meeting place. All enquiries about the seminar rooms, the crane hall and the open air theatre can be sent to → meetings@noi.bz.it

Meeting Rooms

There are eleven shared meeting rooms in buildings A1 and D1 for the NOI-Community. You can book them on&shyline on → rooms.noi.bz.it

NB: You may only book the meeting rooms in the same building as your offices. In addition, in building D1, you may only book meeting rooms on the same floor as your offices.
Samantha, Marie and Margaret meeting rooms in building A1 and all meeting rooms in building D1 are equipped with conference webcams (Media Meeting Owls) for improved communication during hybrid meetings. Simply connect your PC to the device and start the videoconference. If you experience any problems, please open a ticket to it@support.noi.bz.it.
